• Livy is an extremely likeable character, I loved her from the very first page. It's so clear how much she misses her sister and just wants her to come back. At the same time she pretty much has to deal with the loss alone, because her parents are pretty much absent. She's being forced to act mature, because she's got no-one else. I really felt for her and I loved her so so much. The way she acts and the things she wants to do, they're so realistic and I've even been there myself.
I also loved the way she grew. It was like a the seasons, when suddenly everything comes to life again during spring. It was done in a very great way.

• I don't think I've ever highlighted so many quotes before. Some of them because they were beautiful, some of them because I could relate. The writing style was really good, it was right down my alley.

• I kind of have a soft spot for these kinds of books. I expected it to be good, but I wasn't prepared for it to be this good. I think it'll be a new favorite!

• I wasn't too fond of Meyer at first, but he grew on me and I ended up liking him. James I liked immediately, he was a great character. Livy's parents started out to be pretty annoying and I didn't understand them at all, but when the book ended, I liked them and I even came to understand why they acted like they did. It just took me a while to accept them.

Memorable quotes:
"And when my sister died, they stopped calling altogether. Maybe they figured I was too busy mourning to need a friend."

"That's what I am. I'm a pothole. And until someone comes along and fixes me, I am dangerous. I am broken. I am not a part of this life and yet I'm still here. I know I'm supposed to get over losing my sister. I know that's what everyone expects. I'm just not ready yet."

"You have a lot to learn about love, Livy. Love isn't selfish. It may be unkind and it will definitely humble you, but never will it demand what it can't give back."

"I hate this place sometimes. I hate that there is even a need for a children's hospital. There should be a rule universally accepted when it comes to kids, like an age restriction. Nothing and no one should harm a child during the time they are too young to fend for themselves. I get that life isn't fair. But it's far worse when you don't understand what is happening to you. When you're too young to even make sense of it. The death of a child goes beyong unfair. It feels like a punishment."

• Personerne i den her serie…

Buzz Books 2015: Young Adult Fall/Winter

Buzz Books 2015: Young Adult Fall/Winter - Publishers Lunch Book provided from Netgalley

The Thing About Jellyfish: Really good premise. I loved the writing style. It was beautiful. Went straight to Netgalley to request the book.

These Shallow Graves: The dialogue felt forced and the writing style was not my cup of tea. As far as the plot goes, I'm confused. I didn't really get what it was about.

Inherit the Stars: So good! Immediately downloaded the whole book from Netgalley. Very promising YA sci-fi novel that I can't wait to read.

The Accident Season: Quite funny, but not a book I'll be reading, as it seemed to be a bit dull in the storyline.

Nightfall: This is supposed to be a horror/thriller, but that's not the vibe I got from it. The writing style somehow was too simple.

What We Saw: At first I thought this would be a horror story as well (based on the cover), but I've since learned it's about rape etc. I feel like the excerpt was way too short since not much happened. I'm curious towards this book, but this excerpts felt flat to me.

Illuminae: Very confusing. I pretty much had no idea what was going on. I guess it'll be clearer later on in the book (hopefully), but as it is now, I have no intensions to read on. All the 'attached files' didn't work too well in the earc which only added to the confusion, but I'm pretty sure that'll be sorted out before the book comes out. Maybe this is also the reasn I didn't get what I read of this book.

This Raging Light: What is up with this writing style? It sure is special and not quite my cup of tea. Within three pages it's just all over the place. I think this book is aimed at age 12-15. I certainly felt too old for this book, which is fine.

Not If I See You First: Aww. This one was so sweet! Definitely a must read. I love Parker Grant already! ♥

A Step Toward Falling: Hmm. Not sure about this one. I really wanted to like it because I loved [b:Say What You Will|18599754|Say What You Will|Cammie McGovern|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1392738015s/18599754.jpg|26365948] by the author, but I feel ilke this one's too similar to that book :/

A History Of Glitter and Blood: This one was great! I absolutely loved the writing style, it was so so good and very unique. It definitely had some LOL-moments! Yes, I'm looking at you, end of chapter one! Oh dear... :'D Definitely a must read!!

Dumplin': It has potential, but it was too short for me to form an opinion.

The Rest Of Us Just Live Here: Okay, it seemed pretty good, but I don't think I'll be reading it because of my experience with [b:The Knife of Never Letting Go|2118745|The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1)|Patrick Ness|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1277071696s/2118745.jpg|2124180] by the same author. However, if you've read both books, please answer this: Any animal deaths in this book? Chances are I might read the book if I know the answer to this question.

The Shrunken Head: I didn't really expect much from this book, because the two other books by [a:Lauren Oliver|2936493|Lauren Oliver|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1416335442p2/2936493.jpg] that I've read, I didn't really like. This one though...pretty good! I can easily imagine reading it to my future kids! I probably won't be reading it myself.

Are You Still There: ASDFGH!!!!! I need this book. Now. Gimme gimme gimme! Seriously. So good!!! *wanders off to Netgalley*

Hello, Goodbye, And Everything In Between: Sweet little contemporary romance excerpt. I'll probably read the book sometime this summer :)

• Carla was such a great character. She's the nurse who's taking care of Maddy and what a job she did! I almost felt like she was being a mother to Maddy. I know lots of people are angry with her for obvious reasons, but I'm not. What kind of life was Maddy having? Was she even living? I don't think so. I think she was just alive. Anyway. I liked Carla a whole lot!

• That ending.... I can't even begin to describe it, because I'm sure I'll just give it away... You'll have to read it for yourself to find out!

• I found the conversations between Carla and Olly to be funny and light, just the way they should be. I kept hoping to see more of that.

• I really liked the way this book was written. All the dictionary parts, the illustrations, the book reviews. It was fresh and I really liked it.

Dislikes:

• You know how sometimes you don't really dislike anything about a book, but you still can't justify giving it five stars? Yeah, that's this book. I don't know what it is exactly, I'm just not feeling it. It didn't give me the feels, but it made me think. About life. Living.

• Roman was the best character in this book. He was so relateable and I understood him all the way through the book. The reasons he had for wanting to kill himself...so realistic! I can only begin to imagine how that must feel like. Aysel was a fine character, she was funny and she had some great lines, but she didn't leave as big an impact on me as Roman did. I'd like to mention Roman's mom as well. She was just too sweet ♥

• I almost had the end figured out. Almost, not quite. It felt so good to almost have it figured out. Sometimes it can be annoying, but other times, like this one, it's just amazing when you're (almost) right.

• I liked how this book wasn't depressing, but more like 'it's okay, you're not alone'-ish. I didn't cry a single tear, but I laughed a couple of times. I admire the author's ability to write a book on this subject and not make it all sad and depressing. It had heart, humor and hope.

Dislikes:

• The schoolproject about 'taking pictures' reminded me so much of [b:All the Bright Places|18460392|All the Bright Places|Jennifer Niven|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1404331702s/18460392.jpg|26113532], it was just a bit too much.

• I would've liked to know more about Aysel's father. I didn't feel like I got to know enough of him.

• I don't know what it's like to be schizophrenic, but thanks to this book, I think I have a pretty good idea now. This book tells us all the ugly details, and let me tell you it's not pretty. It's very realistic though, which is this book's biggest strength. It goes into detail with hallucination, medication and thoughts about said medication, friendship (or lack of same), youth etc. It does it's job really well

• I loved Jesse, I would've loved to hear more about her. I liked all the characters, but Jesse's story really caught my attention. Funny enough, she didn't really have a big role in this book and it seemed that she was just there to show that life goes on with or without you at an institution - there will always be people needing help. Sort of. I'm not sure how to explain...

Dislikes:

• I would've loved more details such as how did Lucy get that bad, what happened? It felt like the book kept refering to a specific event, but I never found out what it was about. I could be wrong though.

• The ending felt a bit rushed, it just seemed like the easy way out.

Wonder

Wonder - R.J. Palacio “I think there should be a rule that everyone in the world should get a standing ovation at least once in their lives." This quote pretty much sums up this book. I mean, this book deserves that! It was amazing, absolutely amazing. To me, it was the kind of book that makes think more than it was the kind of book that makes you feel things.

I liked the different POVs, it was interesting to see how August had an impact on the different people and their lives. I especially loved hearing the story from Justin's POV (apart from August, that is).

I find that more often than not the parents are absent in these kind of books. Well, not in this one. August had the most caring parents ♥ They treated him like they would treat any other kid, and gently helped him grow older and used to the cruel world around him. They fought a bit, but it felt so so real! And that's part of why I loved this book so much.

I was touched by how cruel kids can be. I mean, I already know that of course, but still, it had an impact on me. It felt like Palacio was just describing the real world and it kind of hurt, you know? Why are kids so cruel? Smaller kids, well, they just don't know any better, but bigger kids? Well... There's a lot of reasons for that, I guess.

August seemed older than ten years, he was so smart! It still seemed fitting though, because wouldn't you be older on the inside if you had his life? I think so...

Even though this book is about how looks aren't important and that you should accept one another, I think it's the most heartfelt book I've read all year. August's life is not easy and the situations he got into? Well... It's not easy being him, let me tell you that! Still, this book gives me hope. I really believe that this book can change your look on things, maybe even your life. It changed mine.

Homegrown Terror

Homegrown Terror - Steve White I would've loved for this book to be 200 pages longer. It was too short or too action packed. I really missed some background information, such as how is Kendra being trained and why.
Kendra is a very strong main character and she's so badass! I really liked her and I'd love to read more about her, but I'm not sure this novella thing is working for me. It felt rather clumsy in some way. I mean...there wasn't really time to explain anything, it was just jumping from one event to the next.
This novella has so much potential, I kind of hope the author will go rewrite it and turn it into a real novel, because I'm sure I'd love that!

Never Never: Part Two

Never Never: Part Two - Colleen Hoover, Tarryn Fisher !!!!! Whyyyyyyy?????? Hurry up and release that last book now!

The Heir

The Heir - Kiera Cass TODAY IS THE HEIR DAY!!! I couldn't be more excited! :D Okay, gotta go read this book now, see you on the other side!

What kind of ending was that?!

Den 5. Bølge

Den 5. Bølge - Rick Yancey Likes:

• I really liked the first part of this book. Really, really liked it. The writing style, the flashbacks and the action, it felt like my kind of book. At first I was annoyed with all the swearing, but it made sense later on and I came to appreciate it.

• I liked Ringer, she was a fun person. She was kind of obsessed with chess, which I found quite funny, but it fitted her personality.

Dislikes:

• This book has multiple POVs. I've never been a fan of that, but this was even worse. I couldn't tell the different voices apart, they all sounded alike to me. I was confused and lost! When I can't tell the voices apart, it's kind of hard to keep up with the book.

• Let's talk about Cassie, the FMC... When I reached the 40% mark I just had enough of her. She was acting childish and was whining about everything! It was just too much. Without giving too much away, let me tell you this: in one chapter, she pointed a weapon at *someone* four times! Seriously?! Just shoot! Or don't. I don't care, just don't change your mind that often! She was being very immature. I just couldn't relate to her.

• The humour...yeah, I didn't get it. This book started out being funny and all, but then it just got too much. I didn't need to be reminded all the time that "I'm trying to be funny even though I know I'm not." Sigh.

• The beginning of this book felt very fast paced and I really liked it. The ending though... Way too fast! Probably because I was extremely confused at that point, but still.. This book is pretty long, you'd think 10-15 more pages wouldn't make that much of a difference.

• I'm probably just disappointed. This book had a lot of potential and I loved the first part, so of course I was expecting a lot from the rest of the book. Unfortunately, I didn't get what I was hoping for.

The Prince

The Prince - Kiera Cass Okay... So the blurb of this companion novel tells us that there was another girl in Maxon's life. Yeah, no. Wrong. Kind of. I have no idea why the blurb was written like that!

This story was so sweet. Especially when the Selection started. It was so nice to see everything from Maxon's POV. It can't always be easy being the son of a king and this story deals with that. I liked how realistic Maxon's reaction to the Selection was. I'd definitely read a whole book from his POV!

The Queen

The Queen - Kiera Cass I loved this one, it was such a sweet story about Amberly and how she fell in love with Clarkson. I've always liked Amber's character and I felt like I got to know her even better through this companion novel. I never liked Clarkson in the series, but I have to say this companion novel offered a new perspective on things.
Even though I knew from the beginning how this story would end, it was still worth it, and (spoilers from book 3)it was nice knowing that you'd get a happy ending and not end up with a lot of dead people.

Den eneste ene

Den eneste ene - Kiera Cass Omg the feels, I can't even!!!!...!

Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet - William Shakespeare Absolutely love this play!! I still don't know what it means to me though, I haven't really decided yet... Maybe one day I will, maybe not. No matter what, I'll keep reading it, because it's so beautiful, funky and tragic.

Confess

Confess - Colleen Hoover Very disappointed. That ending though... </3
