I haven't really succeed in reading books about a different society than what I'm familiar with. This book has changed that.
This book wasn't what I expected it to be at all
. It's about a boy turning into a man, about the demons who haunts you, and about how you can change your own life. It's a really brave story, and I really want to believe that it's all fiction, but sadly isn't just that.
Nobody is a saint in this book. Everyone has a dark side. Just as in real life. I found myself emphatizing with the characters all the time. I liked that the main character, Hassan, wasn't a hero
. He had lot of flaws like everybody else, and that made it easier to identify with him. I understood him in so many ways. He may not always be acting in the right way
, but it made sense to me.
I'm really glad I read this book. It was truly a great book.
