This book was so much better than I thought it would be.
It had love, friendship, teenage angst etc.
Now, it's important to keep in mind that this book is written for a younger audience, which means that everything is happening very quickly and without too much background information. I, as an adult, would've like for this book to be longer, but I get why it isn't like that, and I think that's a really good thing. When I was 13, I wanted my books to be short and fast paced, and I know I would've loved this one. The writing was smooth and easy, just like it should be.
The storyline was so good. I've never been too fond of mermaids in the first place, so I was really happy to see the way it worked in this book. To me, it was a kind of vampire-mermaid species, which I really liked. That was a really smart way to go around this mermaid-thing.
I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.
